GET WICKED: STANTON WARRIORS & WORTHY
Q Nightclub presents GET WICKED
We're thrilled to announce our Halloween event "Get Wicked" with Stanton Warriors and Worthy at Q Nightclub on Friday, October 27th. These two artists represent some of the best party-rocking house and breakbeat music in the world. With stellar local support from PostMatts, Dot Diggler, and Unknown ?layer, not to mention a $500 costume contest, this is the move to start your Halloween weekend.
Since bursting onto the scene with their multi award-winning compilation “The Stanton Sessions” back in 2001, the Stanton Warriors’ irresistible and inimitable sound has consistently remained the soundtrack to some of the world’s biggest and best parties.
In the studio, Bristol’s Mark Yardley and Dominic Butler have honed a trademark, uncategorisable sound that is at once all their own, but also utterly indefinable leading to high-profile releases, alongside official remixes from Daft Punk and Fatboy Slim, to MIA and Gorillaz. This phenomenal output and remarkable longevity has ensured the Stanton Warriors legendary status amongst not only their fans, but also their peers, as they remain fresh, original and relevant; obstinately dancing to beat of their own drum and helping to pave the way for new talent.
When it comes down to all the hype, his name says it all. He is Worthy. With an in-depth knowledge of production, mixing, and performance, Worthy has the insight to play for his audience, cultivating intense positive energy on the dance floor. From salty aired islands to dark club basements, over the past 10 years, Worthy has paid reverence to the traditional form of classic house while tripping off the mark and sinking into the euphoric less-charted territories of booty-clapping bass.
Growing up in Washington DC, Worthy was inspired by the early American rave scene. Upon moving to New York in the late '90s, he was exposed to artists like LTJ Bukem and Stacey Pullen whose music inspired him to play records across multiple genres, from techno and breaks to hiphop and drum 'n' bass. In 2001, he swapped coastlines, moving to San Francisco to pursue his music career. There he teamed up with Claude Von Stroke and Justin and Christian Martin, becoming one of the four founding fathers of the Dirtybird party. Concurrently, Worthy has established his own label, Anabatic Records, which has allowed him to be a bit more experimental with his production, and expand his reach as an artist.
